Adenine

What is it?

Adenine is a nucleotide, which means it's a component of the rungs on the ladder-shaped DNA molecule. Adenine contains Adenine, one of the four base molecules that bonds with another base molecule to form a base pair.

Give me an example!

Base pairs are held together by hydrogen bonding, which means the two molecules share a hydrogen atom. Adenine (A) will only bond with Thymine (T) when forming base pairs in DNA molecules.
