Cytosine

What is it?

Cytosine is a nucleotide, which means it's part of the rungs of the ladder-shaped DNA molecule. Cytosine contains Cytosine, one of the four base molecules that bonds with another base molecule to form a base pair.

Give me an example!

Base pairs are held together by hydrogen bonding, which means the two molecules share a hydrogen atom. Cytosine (C) will only bond with Guanine (G) when forming base pairs in DNA molecules.
