What is it? A post is an upright architectural structure that functions as a support for one or more lintel (or crossmember). To put it another way, a post is a vertical support for one or more horizontal (parallel to the horizon) lintel. Give me an example! Have you ever looked closely at the frame around a door? The sides of the door frame that go up and down function as posts, or vertical supports.
