TWISTED HELIX

What is it?

Twisted helix is not a heavy metal band! Twisted helix is the name used to describe the shape of the DNA molecule.

Give me an example!

The term helix refers to a spiral shape, like the threads on a screw or a snail shell. Think of the DNA molecule as a ladder that has been twisted so that it winds around. If you climbed the ladder, you'd be going around in circles until you were dizzy!
